We then walked along the waterfront and passed the Blues Festival that was in full swing. At one point we were directly behind the main stage so could see and hear it perfectly.
Then we walked over the Hawthorne Bridge where we were able to see a couple of the smaller stages.
After our train timetable stuff up in San Diego we thought we had better check the busses out and discovered one was 5 mins away so we caught that back to Jon's. We all went out to a little Mexican restaurant for tea and Jon took us on a scenic tour of the more affluent suburbs of Portland on the way home.
Marty finally got some down time yesterday and went riding with the boys. By all accounts they had a great day out.
Maree and I went shopping with Denise (Jon's neighbour). Not sure if she will ever recover. First stop was a big sports clothing outlet store. Maree made a small purchase.
Then we went out to Multnomah Falls. This was jammed packed with people. The track up to the falls was just a snake of people so we didn't hang around for too long.
You can't visit Portland without going to a coffee shop and Stumptown is one of the best. Here we learnt all about Cold Coffee which is the latest craze. In summer they sell as much of this as they do normal coffee. The coffee guy let us taste them all and they weren't small samples. Maree was awake half the night last night!
Next we went to Fred Meyers a local grocery store. Poor Denise I don't think she has ever spent so much time in any grocery store ever. We were a little hungry so we thought we should try Sushi train. You take a seat and all sorts of sushi go past on a little conveyor belt and you take whatever you want. Cost is based on the colour of the plate. Would be very easy to over eat but we were able to show some restraint.
Did some shopping for tea then discovered there was a Growler Bar where you could taste Konbusha. Having never heard of it we thought we better give it a try. Yummie. So of course we had to buy a small flagon of it.
After a couple of hours Denise was craving a ciggy so decided the quickest and safest way to get us out was up the pet aisle. It seemed to work.
We finished the day by all having tea together at Jon's. Was a fun day.
Lazy day today as we sort ourselves out for departure tomorrow. Next stop Vancouver.
