The Oregon coastline is beautiful so we were in no hurry as we wandered ourway up to Portland.
My love of castles is second only to my love of lighthouses and there are many along this coast. Lucky for me Maree was in need ofa break right about the time we were passing the road to one so I have got tovisit one more lighthouse. Only a little one but I'm not compaining. It was also a grey whale watch area but we didn't see any.
We spent the night just out of Toledo with another of our motorcyclusts friends. Again nice to catch up.
Maree has been being very good and going for walks most mornings but she was put off by Mark telling her about the cougars, snakes andother wildlife that abound in the area. Any excuse......
Only a short ride of 150 miles to Jon's place in Portlandbut as it is 4th July weekend (Independance Day) we wanted to get there before the traffic became maniac. We did well till the last 20 miles. Stop start all way. And no lane splitting in Oregon although I could tell Marty was just itching to ride up the shoulder.
Arrived at 1.30. Perfect.
Within anhour of arriving my bike is on a stand in Jon's neighbour Andrew's garage. By tea time it is stripped down, new seals in the carbs and new (old) toolbox base is on.
Still a wee bit of work to do on it but with 3 very capable blokes on the job I'm sure we will be up and running in no time,
And what may you ask are Maree and I doing. Well laundry and sleeping of course.
All is how it should be in our little universe.
