A ride through Jasper and Banff National Parks

Rain at night sunshine in the day. What more could we ask for especially as we are about to ride through a very scenic area.

And we entered a new province along the way.

We stopped in Jasper for breaky. My goodness is it touristy.

The scenery was stunning through the park so I'm just going to let the pictures do the talking.

It was so beautiful we were lulled into a false sense of bike security.
We came down a moderate pass with the smell of burning brake pads from the cars in front of us and pulled into a layby at the bottom to admire a waterfall. Took the photo and I flipped my modified switch to start off and lordy lordy nothing!! Marty and Maree had already pulled out but I managed to get their attention and get them to come back. Marty took the seat off and checked the fuses but nothing obvious. He was stumped and we were 150 miles from nearest town that would have no motorcycle shops anyway. For no real reason Marty put the key in the ignition switched it on and low and behold the lights came on. Do you think it will start on the key I asked. Doubtful he replied but tried anyway. Miracles happen. My switch unit was working again.

We carried onto Lake Louise. Couldnt get to the Lake as the carpark was full so we had an icecream then headed off to our B & B in Banff.
Although very touristy I think Banff is way nicer than Jasper. We had a wander of the town before having a very nice meal at the Old Spagetti House.
We jumped on the shuttle bus next morning to go up to the gondola. Didn't even get off the bus as the queues were a mile long with people either waiting to buy tickets or get on the gondolas. None of us were in a queing mood.

Headed off to Calgary. Marty took the scenic route through the middle of town to our motel but lucky for him we arrived just before the afternoon rain hit.

Maree will get a couple of days to explore the city while we sit around getting the bikes serviced.
